About Us

We can safely assume you know about Oxfam and the great work it does around the world but do you know about us here in Bedford Street?

To start with we are quite specific in the items we accept as donations and then sell back to our wonderful regulars and visitors. We are a books and music shop, that means as well as stocking some great fiction we have stocks of Classic Literature, Poetry & Plays, History- local, national and world. You will also find sections on Biography/Autobiography, Fine Art, Collecting, Cookery, Gardening, Politics, Theology, Philosophy, Sociology, Medical Science as well as General Sciences. Study books, Computer books and Teaching Aids. Well, we think you get the idea that we are not your ordinary Oxfam Charity shop.

We stock music in both vinyl and CD formats as well as sheet music and of course music books. We also have a selection of DVD's and computer/console games.

Then we have our wide selection of Fair Trade goods, you could pamper yourself with our 'Faith in Nature' products. We have recycled toilet paper and kitchen rolls as well as ecologically safe household cleaning products. There is of course the scrummy Fair Trade chocolates! We also stock Fair Trade teas and coffees as well as a good selection of cards from Oxfam's own Fair Trade suppliers to Cath Tate cards.

Come and visit us when ever you are in the area, you will be assured of a warm welcome and hopefully a good book or two to take home with you.
